Giorno 1 (5/7): Arrivo a Innsbruck, dove incontro la famiglia Sauter che mi presenta la città; visito l’Abbazia di Wiltener dove assistiamo al coro delle voci bianche (tra i più antichi d’Europa). Visitiamo il balcone d’oro e mangio un Frankfurter (piccantissimo!).

Giorno 2 (6/7): Arrivo a Mallnitz. La famiglia Gatterer viene a prendermi alla stazione e andiamo in una festa organizzata dal parroco del paese. Ascoltiamo musica tradizionale e mangiamo dell’ottimo cibo ( e l’Almdudler, buonissima). Tour veloce del paese.

Giorno 3 (7/7): Visita a Spittal, dove compro alcuni souvenirs. Nel pomeriggio andiamo al lago Millstatter per nuotare, l’acqua era così fredda… e potabile…

Giorno 4 (8/7): Pranzo al ristorante con la famiglia Gatterer, mangio una ottima cotoletta e dopo ciò andiamo al BIOS con Max nel quale assistiamo alla dissezione di un occhio di mucca.

Giorno 5 (9/7): Prima visita a Salisburgo. Giornata piovosa dove incontriamo Daniel, amico di Valentina (la mia host-sister), che ci guida attraverso la città. Andiamo alla fortezza Hohensalzburg dove si può vedere tutta la città, spettacolare! A pranzo mangio Käsespätzle, buonissimi!

Giorno 6 (10/7): Vienna! Compriamo i biglietti del bus turistico e visitiamo i monumenti principali. Visitiamo il museo di storia naturale e vediamo i dinosauri! Visitiamo anche il duomo.

Giorno 7 (11/7): giorno di riposo.

Giorno 8 (12/7): Ciao ciao Tini !. Valentina, la mia host-sister, è diretta a Monaco per prendere il suo aereo per il suo scambio giovanile in Danimarca, così la seguo e il giorno abbiamo il nostro pranzo a Traunstein. Mangio il weisswurst, una salsiccia di mucca, con una mostarda dolce e un pretzel ... INCREDIBILE! 

Giorno 9 (13/7): Arriviamo nei pressi di Spittal dove si può visitare una centrale idroelettrica. C'è una diga alta 200 metri con una passerella nel centro ... bellissima vista. La giornata è piena di natura incontaminata. Nel pomeriggio raggiungiamo Gmund dove visitiamo il museo Porsche. Più tardi siamo andati in un "giardino d'arte", dove si potevano vedere statue fatte di strumenti di uso quotidiano. 

Giorno 10 (14/7): Mattina di riposo. In serata incontriamo Godze e Meri, altre due camper, che sono ospitate a Spittal. Facciamo una bella festa. 

Giorno 11 (15/7): Salisburgo, di nuovo! Noi quattro (io, Akshay, Meri e Godze) andiamo a Salisburgo in treno e lì incontriamo Bernhard. Siamo andati ai giardini reali e presso un altro parco. 

Giorno 12 (16/7): Andiamo a fare una escursione a Flattach dove possiamo vedere come Madre Natura può costruire così tante belle cose nei secoli, mai visto un posto così incontaminato. 

Giorno 13 (17/7): con i due camp-sisters andiamo al Grossglockner, la montagna più alta d'Austria, panorami spettacolari, freddi e suggestivi. Possiamo anche vedere marmotte e stambecchi. 

Giorno 14 (18/7): rilassante e giorno di preparazione delle valige.

Pensieri personali: Penso di essere statomolto fortunatoad essereospitatodalla famigliaGatterer, che è statagentile e pazientecon me eAkshay, il mio camp-brother. Basta pensare aquesto: abbiamo viaggiatoin macchina per 1600 km per raggiungere ogni luogo che abbiamo visitato e poi ... Mallnitz ... che paese! Anche se ha solo 800 persone che può offrire molte cose ad ogni tipo di persona che passa. Spero di essere in grado di tornare in questo posto speciale, che mi ha dato tanto, e incontrare di nuovo Valentina, Ursula e Johannes. A presto!

Giorno 15: (19/7): Arriviamo a Dornbirn in treno e raggiungiamo Bodele, c’è la nostra casa, in auto. Ci viene spiegato il tema del campus: la qualità dell'acqua. 

Giorno 16 (20/7): Nel primo giorno effettivo nel campo proviamo il tiro con l'arco, l’arrampicata e facciamo un bel barbecue nello stesso luogo. 

Giorno 17 (21/7): escursione a Rappenlochschlucht, dove possiamo vedere quanto può essere bella la natura. Nel pomeriggio, sotto la pioggia, andiamo in una fattoria e vediamo come il latte si trasforma in tante cose. 

Giorno 18 (22/7): giornata delle Nazioni, ogni paese ha dovuto preparare un pasto nazionale e tradizionale. Abbiamo preparato gli spaghetti alla puttanesca, scaloppine al limone e tiramisù (abbiamo avuta un’ovazione con quello!). 

Giorno 19 (23/7): Bella giornata con una passeggiata natura seguita dall’Alpine Coaster. Io ero troppo veloce e ho perso il mio berretto. Fortunatamente Natalia mi ha aiutato a ritrovarlo. 

Giorno 20 (24/7): andiamo presso un fiume e viviamo il nostro giorno creativo in cui si costruiamo torri di pietra e dipingiamo pietre. La giornata si conclude con un barbecue. 

Giorno 21 (25/7): Andiamo in Svizzera e Liechtenstein (Vaduz) e ceniamo presso il ristorante al vecchio castello "Schattenburg" in Feldkirch. 

Giorno 22 (26/7): mattina piovosa a nostra disposizione a Dorbirn in cui andiamo a fare shopping. Poi abbiamo la "serata delle nazioni", dove ognuno di ognuno di noi ha dovuto presentare il proprio paese di origine. 

Giorno 23 (27/7): Mattinata libera. La sera vediamo il Flauto Magico di Mozart sul palcoscenico sull’acqua più grande del mondo.

Giorno 24 (28/7): Abbiamo una breve escursione in mattinata presso Am Kumma e visitiamo il museo ebraico. 

Giorno 25 (29/7): Gran giorno bavarese (di sempre!): Visitiamo l'Allianz Arena e il museo BMW. In serata abbiamo un barbecue nei pressi di Monaco di Baviera. 

Giorno 26 (30/7): Visitiamo, ancora in Germania, il palazzo reale detenuto dal "re locale". 

Giorno 27 (31/7): Visitiamo il Werkraum Andelsbuch, un museo del legno, poi andiamo con un treno a vapore a Bezau, poi ceniamo presso il "Kaiserschmarren" a Schwarzenberg. 

Giorno 28 (1/8): Visitiamo il la diga Silvretta e il famoso "Flying Fox", che ci ha portato verso l'altro lato del lago. Andiamo un piccola intervista con la televisione ORF. Torniamo a casa e facciamo una festa per l'ultimo giorno. 

Giorno 29 (2/8): giornata di preparazione delle valige e lasciamo l'Austria, pranziamo a casa di Andreas Sauter e poi ... volo a Napoli. 

Pensieri personali: Non dimenticherò mai questo campus, i campers e lo staff: ogni singola persona che ho incontrato durante questo campo è stata incredibile, ci siamo divertiti un sacco tutti insieme e il direttore del campo, Jurgen Piffer, ha organizzato ogni singolo dettaglio alla perfezione. I giorni che ho descritto sopra davvero non possono spiegare come fosse divertente ed stimolante ogni singolo minuto che ho passato in Austria. Devo ringraziare i Lions, il mio distretto (108YA) e quello austriaco (114W) per avermi dato la possibilità di avere una tale occasione con 21 (ventuno!) nazioni diverse e spero in qualche modo di vivere questa esperienza anche il prossimo anno. Grazie!!

English version 

Day 1 (5/7): Arrive in Innsbruck, where I meet the Sauter family who introduces us to the city and let me visit the Wiltener Abbey where the Wiltener Sängerknaben was held. We visit the Goldenes Dachl (golden balcony) and eat a Frankfurter (spicy!).

Day 2 (6/7): Arrive in Mallnitz. The Gatterer family picks me up at the train station and we go to a feast organized by the parson. We listen to traditional music and eat great food (and the Almdudler, AMAZING!). Quick tour of the village, very small, but very impressive.

Day 3 (7/7): Visiting Spittal, where I buy some souvenirs. In the afternoon we go to the Millstatter See and have a swim, the water was so cold… and drinkable…

Day 4 (8/7): Lunch at the restaurant with the Gatterer family, I eat a schnitzel and after that we go to the BIOS together with Max. We see a cow-eye dissection.

Day 5 (9/7): First visit in Salzburg. Rainy day where we meet Daniel, Valentina’s friend (Valentina is my Host-Sister) who guides us through the city. We go to the Hohensalzburg fortress, where you can see the whole city, amazing! At lunch I try the Käsespätzle, really good!

Day 6 (10/7): Vienna! We buy the citysightseeing bus tickets and see the main buildings of the city. We go to museum of natural history and see…Dinosaurs! We visit the dome, Stephankirche, too.

Day 7 (11/7): relaxing day.

Day 8 (12/7): bye bye Tini!. Valentina, my host-sister, is directed to Munich to catch her plane for her youth exchange in Denmark. So I follow her and later on the day we have our lunch in Traunstein. I eat the weisswurst, a cow sausage, with a sweet mustard and a pretzel… AMAZING!

Day 9 (13/7): We arrive near Spittal where you can visit an hydroelectric power station. There is a 200m high dam with a skywalk in the center…wonderful view. The day is filled with untouched nature. In the afternoon we reach Gmund where we visit the Porsche museum. Later on we went to an “art garden” where you could see statues made of daily-use tools.

Day 10 (14/7): Relaxing morning. In the evening we meet Godze and Meri, two other campers, who are hosted in Spittal. Had a nice party.

Day 11 (15/7): Salzburg, again! The four of us (me, Akshay, Meri and Godze) go to Salzburg by train and there we meet Bernhard. We went to the royal gardens and another park.

Day 12 (16/7): We go hiking at Flattach where we can see how Mother Nature can build so much stuff in the centuries, never seen such an uncontaminated place.

Day 13 (17/7): with the two camp-sisters we go to the GrossGlockner, the highest mountain in Austria, freaking cold and great panoramas. We can also see marmots and capricorns.

Day 14 (18/7): relaxing and packing day.

Personal thoughts: I think I have been very lucky for being hosted by the Gatterer family, who have been kind and patient with me and Akshay, my camp-brother. Just think about this: we have traveled by car, and just by car, 1600 km to reach every place we have visited and then…Mallnitz…what a village! Even though it has only 800 people it can offer many things to every kind of person passing by. I hope I’ll be able to come back to this special place, that gave me so much, and meet again Valentina, Ursula and Johannes. A presto!

Day 15: (19/7): We arrive in Dornbirn by train and reach Bodele, where our place is set, by car. We get introduced to the camp thread, water quality.

Day 16 (20/7): In the first actual day in the camp we try archery, climbing and have a nice barbecue in the same place.

Day 17 (21/7): hike in Rappenlochschlucht, where we can see how beautiful nature can be, in the afternoon, under the rain, we go to a diary and see how the milk gets transformed in many things.

Day18 (22/7): Nations day, every country had to prepare a national and traditional meal. We have prepared spaghetti alla puttanesca, scaloppine al limone and tiramisù (we got an ovation with it!).

Day 19 (23/7): Nice day with a nature hike followed by the alpine coaster. I was too fast and I lost my cap. Fortunately Natalia helped me out to regain it.

Day 20 (24/7): We go to a river and have our creative day in which we build stone towers, painted stones. The day ends with a barbecue.

Day 21 (25/7): We go to Switzerland and Liechtenstein (Vaduz) and have a dinner at the restaurant at the old castle “Schattenburg” in Feldkirch.

Day 22 (26/7): Free rainy morning in Dorbirn in which we go shopping. Then we have the “evening of the nations” where each of every one of us had to introduce the country of origin.

Day 23 (27/7): Free morning. In the evening we see the Magic Flute by Mozart at the largest floating stage worldwide.

Day 24 (28/7): We have a short hike in the morning at Am Kumma and visit the Jewish museum.

Day 25 (29/7): Great Bavarian day (ever!): we visit the Allianz Arena and the BMW museum. In the evening we have a BBQ near Munich.

Day 26 (30/7): We visit, still in Germany, the royal palace held by the “local king”.

Day 27 (31/7): We visit the Werkraum Andelsbuch, a wood museum, then we go by a steam train to Bezau and later on we have a dinner with “Kaiserschmarren” in Schwarzenberg.

Day 28 (1/8): We visit the big “Silvretta-dam” and the famous “Flying Fox” which led us to the other side of the lake. We go a little interview with ORF television. We go back to the hut and have a party for the last day.

Day 29 (2/8): Packing day and leaving Austria, we have lunch at Andreas Sauter’s place and then…take off to Naples.

Personal thoughts: I will NEVER forget this camp, the campers and the staff: every single person I met during this camp has been amazing, we had a lot of fun all together and the camp director, Jurgen Piffer, has organized every single detail to the perfection. The days I have described above can’t really explain how fun and exciting was every single minute I had in Austria. I have to thank Lions, my district (108YA) and Austria’s district (114W) for giving me the possibility to have such a great time with 21 (TWENTY-ONE!) nations and I hope somehow to live this experience again next year.
