La Serbia è una terra dove molti uomini e molte culture sono transitati, incontrandosi, scontrandosi, confondendosi. Pensate quindi al mio arrivo all’aeroporto internazionale Nikola Tesla di Belgrado, che emozione! Subito sono stato accolto da Ivan, il mio host father, ed insieme siamo partiti alla volta di Novi Sad.
Abbiamo percorso l’autostrada che attraversa veloce la pianura della Vojvodina, una delle regioni più ricche della Serbia. Novi Sad è la seconda città della Serbia ed è la capitale economica, culturale e amministrativa della Vojvodina. Questa città, costruita sulle rive del Danubio, è un grande centro industriale, importante nodo di comunicazioni e sede universitaria. Avevo l’imbarazzo della scelta su come trascorrere la giornata: dal visitare opere culturali come la fortezza di Petrovaradin che domina la città o Matica Srpska (la più antica istituzione culturale serba), al giocare a pallavolo o basket in uno dei campi predisposti lungo il fiume. Dallo distendermi semplicemente sulla Strand (la spiaggia costruita lungo la riva del fiume) per prendere un po’ di sole, al fare, la sera, un giro per i caratteristici locali che animano la città.
Le giornate sono passate veloci fra compleanni di amici di famiglia, una giornata all’Acquapark, ed una visita di Belgrado.
Le persone che ho conosciuto sono state la chiave di questa vacanza: tutti erano molto ospitali, cercavano di mettermi a mio agio e di farmi vivere pienamente la loro realtà. Vivere in due famiglie mi ha comunque permesso di conoscere più persone e capire meglio questo fantastico popolo. Piccole cose come andare a mangiare a casa di amici o semplicemente stare la sera sulla riva del Danubio a parlare, con ragazzi e adulti, sono stati i momenti che meglio ricordo. Ogni esperienza fatta mi riportava a situazioni familiari, spensierate, ricche di contatto con la natura e buon cibo. Inoltre non solo io imparavo la loro cultura e tradizioni, ma a loro volta le mie host family volevano capire la cultura italiana, e ciò mi ha fatto sentire estremamente orgoglioso del mio Paese.
Per questo devo ringraziare ancora gli organizzatori e tutti quelli che animano questo progetto di scambi giovanili.
When I arrived at the airport Nikola Tesla in Belgrade, I was so intrigued at the expectations of discovering a land like Serbia: little known to most people, and though with an impressive history.
I easily could meet Ivan, my host father, and we soon drove to Novi Sad on the highway through the Vojvodina, one of the richest regions of Serbja.
Novi Sad, built along the Danube riverside, is the second city in Serbja and is the economical, cultural and administrative capital of Vojvodina. Ivan let me choose what I wanted to do during the day: visiting cultural heritages like Petrovaradin’s fortress, which is on top on a hill and overlooks all the city below; visiting Matica Srpska (the ancient cultural istitution in Serbja); playing basketball or volleyball in one of the fields long the riverside.
I could also lay down on the Strand and in the evening walk in the streets of the old town, with plenty of typical bars and discos.
It was great!
I felt more part of the family when I was invited to a Ivan’s friend’s birthday party in Aquapark (super!!) in Beograd. In this occasion we also visited the city..
The days passed very fast!
The people I met were really great: everybody was very friendly, and I could live as one of them.
As I lived with two different families, I had the opportunity to meet more people and to appreciate more and in different ways this country.
Little things like eating in a friend’s house or staying on the riverside, in the evening, talking to each other, are the memories that I hold dearer.
Every experience recollect me with familiar situations, nature and good food.
I also appreciated very much that I was not the only to learn new things, but also my host families and the other people I met were eager to learn about Italy.
This s the real spirit and aim of the Youth Exchange Program and I want to thank all people that with their work and passion make all this possible. I think this is the spirit of this experience, discover new
But of course a special thanks to Ivan, Dulcisa, Boris, Vladimir, Kostantin, Jadranka and the other people that I met for making me feel welcomed and never out of place.
