This summer I went to Japan thanks to lions club. I was able to experience the Japanese life and culture.
Before the camp I spent two weeks in two different families. I visited lots of typical japanese places like temples and pagodas. I was able to see the differences between our culture and the japanese culture.
I also met some Japanese guys who came to Sicily for a lions camp last year. Both two families were extremely kind and nice. Thanks to them I could feel like a member of the family.
When my home stay finished I went to the camp that lasted from July 19th until July 28th.
I was the only Italian camper but I didn't have any sort of problem, on the contrary this helped me to integrate myself with other 24 campers, each from different countries. We visited important and famous places like Hiroshima and made many experiences... we had a full immersion in the Japanese costumes and traditions. We created a deep bond and lifelong friendships and I actually miss them all. Now I can say that I have friends all over the world.
It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
I also want to thank the lion club which gave me this possibility.
